After some odd and unexpected results, we will look to improve our odds this week with our picks. I still cannot believe that we are only a couple weeks away from the NFL off-season.
Week 21 Playoff Picture:
*All games will take place on Sunday this week
Cincinnati Bengals @ Kansas City Chiefs: 3:00 PM EST
Going to be honest, the Bengals recent success and win over the Titans has really surprised me, but once again, I am passing on them. The Chiefs just seem unbeatable in the playoffs with Mahomes unless they’re playing against Tom Brady (is still expected to retire despite reports). Their 44 yard drive in 13 seconds for a field goal vs the Bills showed that. Patrick Mahomes is currently 8-2 in the playoffs with both losses coming against Tom Brady, one in overtime of a conference championship game and one from last year’s super bowl. Since taking the starting job over Alex Smith in 2018, Mahomes has at least made it to the conference championship game with a total record of 2-1. It is also a home game for K.C., which will give the Chiefs an even bigger advantage.
Winner: Kansas City Chiefs

San Francisco 49ers @ Los Angeles Rams: 6:30 PM EST
This should be a close one, but the Rams have been on fire lately (mainly Matthew Stafford). His last two games in the playoffs is probably the best two-game stretch of his career. Stafford has recently complete 75% of his passes for six total touchdowns.
You can also go the other way with this one though, as McVay is currently 3-7 in the last 10 games vs Kyle Shanahan and the 49ers. In the last meeting, San Francisco came back from a 17-0 lead to win it, 27-24 which got them into the playoffs. They’ve also totaled 7 sacks and 21 pressures on Stafford in their last two contests without blitzing, which has been somewhat of a big issue for the Rams. When Stafford is sacked multiple times, the Rams have gone 3-4 vs opposing teams.
For the Rams to win this game, they must keep their defense tight and protect Stafford. They cannot give points up like how they did vs the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last week in a “blowout win” at the time and vs the 49ers in their last meet of the regular season. If you give Stafford time and space, he’ll make dreams come true. In games where Stafford has been sacked 0-1 times, the Rams have gone 9-1 this season. I think it’s very possible that we will see the Rams in the Super Bowl with home-field advantage in February.
